After a couple of weeks scratching my head and asking questions the minor hesitation is cured.
The Subaru "fly by wire" Legacy's have a idle relearn which works wonders. My fuel consumption improved and lead to me discovering the possible cause. I carried out the relearn procedure to the letter, while pottering around later I thought a clean of the induction pipe work would not go amiss.
Inside the airbox was a decaying maple pretty much covering about a quarter of the filter. The change was very noticeable.

I think I saw your posts on uk legacy. Are you also known as blue dragoon? Over there I'm bankrupt drunk. Not that I've been stalking you.
The Spec B alloys tend to go around the centre caps (which are metal). They were pretty much spot on but 18 months of UK roads and they need some TLC. I will swap them out and get them loved up too.
Some tyres for the Inovites and roll on the nice weather, not!
I refurb the OE brakes that were replaced. They are pretty good with the standard 315mm discs. Pistons, seals, rubbers, OE banjo bolts and washers and paint.
They are a great upgrade on a GC chassis or GX Newage for info.
Nice looking example you've got there. I have a legacy GT Spec B but not the WR ltd version. Out of interest where did you get the new Bilsteins? I may be needing a set. Car drove absolutely fine until tonight when it developed a knocking noise at the front. Did your existing Bilsteins start knocking?

Removed the exhaust out of curiousity to see how the UK roads have effected the OE JDM pipework.
It was pretty good to be honest and the bolts were in good condition with no rust.
So I treated the exhaust, which was still in excellent condition, to some Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and then a coat of high temperature engine paint.
Looks great. Any plans to treat them to keep them that way or do the liners do a decent job of keeping the filth out?

The arch liners do a great job hence the condition after just a wipe with a cloth and some 99p multi surface cleaner. They have had a coat of Bilt Hamber Dynax UC clear wax before the covers went back on.
The plugs are ILFR6B NGK's as recommended by many. They were quite old by the look of things but only a little awkward to get out. They is padding along the inner member that once removed makes them easier.
