I have a five speed one in good condition if you are interested, five and six speed are interchangeable and it's only covered 1200 miles.

The 5 and 6 speed are not fully interchangeable, a 5 speed will fit in a 5 speed and a 6 speed box but a 6 speed will only fit in a 6 speed box.

 

Cheers Arch. I'm aware of the 5 speed fitting 6 speeds, and not vice versa, but appreciate you informing me.

 

I ran a 6speed on my 5 speed box for a couple of years, I'm not sure what modification API did to the housing apart from fitting a 6 speed flywheel and starter motor.

I was under the impression the friction plate on a 6 speed is too big for a 5 speed box? 230/240mm rings a bell

The difference is the cover plates u can buff a bit off lthe bell housing webs or the cover plate bolts or just get the correct clutch.
