The cig lighter has an inline fuse wire on the back of the plug, prone to blow when using electric tyre pumps.

have you dropped a multimeter on the wiring at the rear of the socket, check for 12v, rules out a faulty socket, if you are 100% sure the fuses are ok.

I have a Temporary' fog light that I made up for mot purposes that plugs in the cig lighter.
the fuse had blown on this so I did the old tin foil round the fuse job.Worked for a while & now nothing works in the cig lighter.???
Really appreciate the replies fellas,thanks.

You have probably with using the fog light in the socket blown the fuseable link at the back of the socket this blows when the socket gets overloaded and usually happens when using a compressor for blowing up the tyres so you will have to take the socket out and check the back of it.

Hi guys. Not had chance to have a proper look but have taken the whole centre piece out including the stereo & I can't see any fuses at all.Followed the black wire from the lighter & it just goes into a load of other wires.

So is the fuse actually in the back of the lighter itself?
