Default The dreaded classic rear arches

Can anyone recommend a bodyshop capable of the task around West Yorks. Need both rear arches cutting out and sorting!! I've seen the arch replacements on ebay. Are they worth taking to the bodyshop?

Cheers

I'm I'm the same place as you. The body shop I was planning on using was a one man place and he's now moved.

Aye, I knew it needed doing to be honest. The sills feel a bit crusty under the sideskirts too.

Also search for lord harding (probably not his real name) he's got a really smart green classic wagon that has had similar surgery.

Possibly, as it'd be quite a coincidence have two lord hardings in the subaru scene.
But all I know is that he has got a fantastic green classic wagon.

Would it be cheaper to buy the cutouts of ebay and take it to a bodyshop or just take it to a bodyshop? Same problem here obviously

Default Arches need doing too

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I have the same issue.
Is there anyone near Eastbourne way (south coast) that can do mine? I have the replacement arches, they just need cutting, welding and prepping. Pic attached.

Cheers

No worries. Where did you get the arch replacements from? So far I've seen em at 75 quid but off eBay. Not sure on the quality!!

Cool, got them off eBay for£75 as you say, it says they're galv which would stop the rust. I was quoted 2k a couple of months ago which seemed a bit steep for 1 arch, but that did include rolling or cutting them for ABW's, don't need that done now so just looking for a price to cut and weld them in.

2k wow, that's more than I paid for the car, let me know what price you get so I've a ball park. I know prices can vary massively depending on the quality of the result I guess.

A coachworks will be cheaper than a "body shop".

Mine was £500, IIRC, but that included painting a splitter, sideskirts and a bootlid. I supplied Ebay rear quarter panels, so £600 ish all in.

I thought you were all about the times man! Rust is lighter than carbon fibre, i cant believe you would ruin a car by adding all that weight!

It's definitely your eyesight, since they are the same car.

Lights in the warehouse at work don't help matters.

Yeah both sides.

Coachworks are like "body shops" but, not rip off bastards.

Bodyshops tend to have dealt with the Max Power brigade and got their heads up their own *****, IMHO. Coachworks deal with bread and butter all day long and charge accordingly.
