Couple things ,

How are they going to knock on your door, or is everything prearranged by mob phone/ computer

Secondly what if it's lashing down with rain , presumably extra plastic packaging going to landfill

 

They are going to home in on your mobile phone, so when your bonking your girlfriends sister expect a delivery

 

that would be quite useful, if you need jonnies or tissues for the clean up....will save the curtains anyway.

 

More intrusion and job losses to technology.

Is surveillance the only kind of intrusion you can contemplate?

 

I suppose they have thought this through? Health & safety issues such as drone collisions and crashes in built up areas would be a worry, people shooting them down in rural areas and pinching the payload might become a new sport, signing for delivery could be tricky too. Imagine a sky full of these things, perhaps threatening aircraft. And what a great terrorist bomb delivery system. Just a matter of time.

 

I can't see how this will ever work, thefts have to be a large problem to overcome, both thefts of delivered parcels, and drones getting taken down

 

its a gimmick, nice idea but will never work in the real world for all the reasons mentioned.

As mentioned, chavs everywhere will just go on a rampage and nick packages from gardens. They'll have a 'field' day.

 

Amazon must think that everyone has a nice big garden or a safe place to land one of these things, how are they expecting to land one in a terrace street where their is no space outside or to someone who lives in a high rise block of flats. They'll probably want you to hang out of the window 40 storeys up in the sky to take delivery of your package.

Oh and it's easy to jam a drone and camera so no return to home for drone result a free drone and what ever goods it has.
