empty system ,fill from turbo pipe (takes aages this way) leave top off water bottle ,,,,when full ,,put top on bottle ,, put heaters,,,, on start car leave to idle till rad fans cut in ,,,,,let it cool down check bottle top up as required ,,,,,if a classic leave the bottle by the battery empty as this is a over ...and won,t hurt if left empty

Don't bother burping it, it's not reliable.

You need to fill as recommended above. Make sure the heaters are set of HOT before starting.

Pull the rear pipe off the header tank, (NOT the plastic overflow bottle), the one that sits on top of the engine. Stuff a funnel down it and fill SLOWLY, not allowing it to gulp. Mine took over 20 minutes.

Once water appears in the header tank, fill to the brim, replace pipe, and start engine, leaving the cap off. Mop up or top up as needed until the fans kick in, then put cap on and go for a ride round the block...don't thrash it.

On return, let it cool, check level in header tank, topping up as necessary.

That's it.
