Default Alarm question please

Basically i would like to find out if it is possible to add some sort of a beeper or theif alert before the car is even approached? I had this option with a clifford alarm a while back where it would beep before you even touch the car.

Isit possible for some sort of a gadget to be added instead of changing the complete alarm system?

Any idea what this type of sensor is called?

Many thanks

Microwave would be inside the car these are used in Cabriolet cars so they can be used with the roof down and will trigger if someone leans into the zone

Easy to do and cheap enough

im really pleased with my avantguard 5.5 which is the same as the 650 with a couple of extras,no problems though and no false alarms yet in 12 months.
the additional proximity alarm can do your head in though on the 5.5 if you have to park on the street as even turned down every person or car going past will cause it to chirp at you and becomes annoying

I see thanks mate. How about these Sniper alarms with pager systems? Do they really work properly? If the alarm is detected a message is sent to the pager even if you are half a mile away
