How do I know my tracker is still working after all this time!
I've had the Tracker Retrieve for about 7 years with the lifetime subscription paid up front. I have never needed to use it but my insurance is still "subject to an operational tracking device being fitted".
I have no idea wether it works or not.
I did the obvious and called tracker only to discover with some disappointment that most of the staff there give the impression of being either completely clueless or total wideboys - not that reassuring if the car is pinched!
Anyway they have attempted to run a couple of tests which either come back as "pass", "fail" or "inconclusive". Both tests were inconclusive!
When pushed the guy explained "oh, they nearly all come back inconclusive, mate. We only send a very faint signal as to not block up the airwaves. If the car is stolen we bombard the airwaves so it should get a signal."
WTF is the point of the test then, I'm thinking
Unfortunately compared to the other peolpe I have spoken to this guy seemed like the resident expert. Most of the others just tried to push me an £80 service instead of the free test which it seemed like they might be on commission for selling.
What is the best way to get this thing sorted? Can any of you lot spread some light on the matter?

id get back on the phone to them and ask for a supervisor or manager, tell them you want to know if its working or not, put your foot down.
i have the tracker retreive on my car and when i registered it they told me the exact location of the car so they can check.

I make a point of calling trackstar 3 times a year and get a test track done.
Never failed yet or had a negative response.
Every time they can tell me that last journey logged.

Tracker cant check where your vehicle is.
i wondered this to, how do you know if its still working, i was told to disconnect the battery for 5 mins and they should call you if you have`nt notified them of the disconnection, i have`nt tryed this thou....
well thats strange because when i registered my tracker the car was not at the home post code and they told me the exact postcode then address where the car was parked! be pointless otherwise
