Turbo Timer with a Cobra??
#1
My car is in Le Garage having a Turbo Timer fitted (HKS). Thing is, I am wondering whether they are compatible with my Cobra alarm or whether I will need to change the alarm.
Anyone..

Which Cobra do you have, I have a Cobra and I am about to order a Blitz multifunction Turbo Timer, if it don't work maybe I am gonna have to get another alarm instead

I have a Cobra 6422. It doesn't work so now I have to either get a Cobra (not receommended as apparently a nightmare to work with) or a Lazerline... That's another few hundred pounds so the TT has to be shelved for a while
I am not happy to have to get rid of a perfectly good Cat 1 alarm in order to fit a TT

Noooo I have a 6422 as well, not good....
That means another £400 or so spanked onto a new alarm, I think the new Cliffords have TT capability built into them as standard, eliminating the need for a seperate TT...

Cobras have them built in I am doing some reserach as I type!
So annoying when you want to add a TT and then you have to go and spend an extra £500 or so to sort it out

Do they?? - I don't suppose it's like a straight upgrade of our current systems, more probable that it's a new unit?
I know, just spanked a load of wedge too
Winds me up when this sort of thing happens!!!

It def. can't be done with our alarms. I will find out the price of a Clifford that will suffice and hopefully include a TT facility I good friend got a great price on one a while back...

Im a cobra distributor , they are great alarms "very secure and reliable" unlike some i could mention ..
with a capital C and end in D , that also have a 40% return rate as reported by my local DEI provider.
I fit cobra and cliffvip alarms too , i mean clifford
viper! ummm noo i meant " vip-fford " whatever!
(( they are the same people after all ))
they also make sidewinder , valet , wasp , rattler and some other serpent like alarms like clifford's lol
ive only ever fitted 2 viper alarms i think , and they were both faulty .
Im not here to slag off DEI that own clifford , cause i have a clifford on my van . but i am here to say that DEI are as bad as TOAD and the future is not bright , its grey and black encased !
" just like a cobra actually "...

CVA,
OK, if I wasn't confused enough before, then I am now! As a fitter can you tell me, in layman's terms, which alarm can I fit that will work with a TT
What I really want is my Cobra and a TT
Possible?

Every concept clifford has a built in timer that is programable !
it can be used to provide whatever you wish , with a few relays.
it can run from 1 sec to 4 mins.
If you want a clifford with a turbo timer fitted.
you will have to go for a concept 100 or a 400 or the top of the range advantguard. and even on these models the turbo timer is an option.
so basically clifford have given us fitters the chance to charge customers for a turbo timer.
which we havent actually added..
because the whole concept range has a timer output wire. ie a turbo timer.
clear ?
in other words get the cobra taken off and get a clifford fitted.
here is another advantage of having a clifford .
you can plug a laptop into it and programme the entire alarm at the touch of a button.
the software to do this is available at www.clifford.com
its called cliffnet wizard .
download it and off you go !
another cool thing that is not mentioned that much is , you can also check and see how many remotes are programmed into your car.
so if you buy a car with a clifford you can make sure the previous owners dont have a spare remote !!
good luck , hope this helped .

So in other words back to square one again??! - Have Cobra Cat1, prob TT won't work with it and have to waste yet another £500 on another alarm instead
