Default Toad Ai606 Locking Problem

My Ai606 has today decided it'll be more secure for me not to bother locking my car

As soon as the doors lock, either from outside the car on the fob, or as you drive away, they unlock again. The central locking is fine, and locking from the key is fine, its just the alarm thats the problem.

Is this a known problem or are then any likely causes I could check? Just wondering before I start looking for a Toad dealer and emptying my bank account

Hi there,

With regards to the CDL on your vehicle it sounds to me like there is a fault with one of the CDL motor wires on the vehicle itself. When you are using the key in the door and the CDL is working fine this is because you are actually forcing the motor and mech to work where as when the Toad security system is trying to operate the CDL; it pulses the motor and if the motor is sticking or faulty in any way this would result in the problems you are experiencing. If you are going to investigate the problem yourself I suggest you have a look at the motor and the smoothness of the action of it and compare this between using your key to activate the locking and then the alarm. If not your local Toad dealer should be able to help and motors are not that expensive so I do not think anyone will be emptying your bank account!

Hope you get the problem sorted soon.

Regards

Mike.N

Seems to be very intermitent, just as i think its fixed itself, it comes back. Not great for the confidence..

It's odd, because all the doors do lock fine, but then open again..

Will look for a dealer, want a boot release adding anyway.

Hi there again,

The door motor and mech as discussed above does indeed need inspecting here because it is this "going faulty" that leads to the locks "bouncing" on the vehicle also I would get the dealer to inspect the wiring connections here to ensure they are correct, reliable!! and not shorting anywhere, because if not this could also lead to the above situation you are suffering from.

Hope you get all your probs sorted at a authorised Toad dealer. If you have anymore problems just drop me a PM anytime (But looking at the time you post on this website - late at night, I will be unable to reply until the next working day).

Regards
