Default M30 Problem!!!

Hi all!!
I am having some problems with my alarm (well i think it is) Basically it all works as it should but now and then when you disarm it and try and start the car it doesnt fire
It turns over but just nothing! I can hear the fuel pump ok when the ignition is turned on and it does turn over,so im guessing its something to do with the immobiliser? i have the sigma m30 fitted on a 96 uk impreza.I have been told that it has 4 points where it will be immobilised coil, fuel pump, ignition and somewhere else i cant remember im guessing the fuel pump is ok because i can hear it when its disarmed, and like i say it does turn over so that point must be ok!
any help please!!!

And like i say the alarm is the only thing i can think it can be!
Unless anybody knows of something else it could be?
Thanks Again
Nicos

Unless you have another immobiliser system fitted in additional to the Sigma M30 then it only has two immobilisation circuits not four.
The circuits usually interupt the starter and fuel pump circuits.
If the engine turns over, then this indicates that the stater circuit is ok and if you can hear the fuel pump priming then this would suggest the fuel pump circuit is ok.
I think it is safe to exclude the alarm from further diagnostics. I would look at circuits that prevent the engine from firing - I believe the MAF sensor can be problematic and, although it usually shows as a misfire first, could cause a similar problem if it failed completely, might be worth a search on the forum under MAF for more info.

Hope that's some help,
SS

Default Same Problem!!

Hi Nicos,

Ah seem to be suffering the exact same problem with my 95 wrx import.
av had it to an auto electric place 2 day and he ruled out the alarm and fuel pump.

Have you been able to sort out the problem and if so how?

cheers
