Question

Does anyone know the exact spec of the MY2000 alarm system fitted to the turbo? I bought one in January and the Insurance is due, so knowing the alarm/immobiliser make and model would be very handy, as I can't find it anywhere in the paperwork.

The exact make and model is not specified in the Subaru paperwork. It is officially Subaru badged and Thatcham Category One rated - I seem to remember the Thatcham web site lists approved manufacturers alarms if you need proof, but the insurance company should have it on their computer systems anyway. This is assuming you have a car bought originally from a UK Subaru dealer - if it was imported any alarm could have been fitted.

Of course it is identical in every way to another well known alarm manufacturers prodct but we're not supposed to notice that

The alarm which is fitted as standard should be the Sigma M30.

Thumbs up

Thanks Guys,

Surprisingly only one insurer asked for it. Most just accepted Category 1 Thatcham.
