Red face I think I may have found the TrackStar Unit :)

mmmm, I'll be very vague (as you never know who is reading this stuff).

Whilst fitting a new part to my car last week, I came across a black box with a lable on it with some numbers followed by TR.

Mmmm, how many boxes could have TR on them (Trackstar???).

Now assuming that this box is part of the trackstar, then I can't believe the stupid location I found it in. Not exactly secure and very easy to locate.

I'd like to ask other owners if they have one in the same place but obviously would want to do this off-line.....

Mark,

Mail me as my profile and I will check mine later today. Always been interested to know where it is located.

When I bought my car a MY99 (used) it came with Tracker fitted. I asked 2 questions why no stickers highlighting Tracker fitted and where is it. Was told if you advertise Tracker fitted it will void the contract as it can only be located in so many places because of the size, so this would make it easy to deactivate before stolen.

I had a Tracker Monitor on my MY99, after it was fitted I noticed an extra single core black cable running from under the rear driver side seat up with the rear speaker cables and along the back of the car between both the speakers. One would assume it's something to do with the Tracker, always wanted to know where is was!

You'll probably find a little match stick size box with a flashing LED on the front of it and think £450 for that!

thats probably the old car phone kit antenna.
or something,
dont look or talk about tracker locations on this site gents, for your own good,
the more you talk about these things, the more the scum will learn about them.
you allways give away so much on here about vehicle security, i think its so dumb.
i have discussed this site with fellow installers.
we would like to see this section removed from scoobynet, to be honest.
