I collect my first scooby on saturday, a 01 WRX, but yesterday i read in the sun that it happens to be the easiest car to steal out of 38 others tested by What car? mag.
So does this mean the standard fit cat 1 alarm/immobiliser is useless? They say they could get into the car within a couple of seconds,without breaking glass, and took the other security features into account to rate it bottom.
Its all a bit off putting to say the least, i would have thought with a cat 1 setup it would be reasonably secure, but now seems not to be the case. I know i shall be out to get myself a Disk lock before the weekend.Does anyone else have any ideas on beefing up the standard security fitments?

 

I would improve physical security first, then look at boosting the immobilisation
