Question

Hi,

After reading all of the horror stories on here, I wondered what people would recommend I do to upgrade the security on my 2002 GX.

It's got the factory fit Sigma system, the same as the WRX, and I always fit a Disklok when it's parked.

I've got the system set to lock the doors automatically when the ignition's on too.

How secure is the Sigma system?
Someone told me that the very fact that it's factory fit means that it's insecure - although my dealer says it's CAT1 and the best you can get!

What should I do!
I don't want to wake up one morning and find it's gone - and I'm not sure I want to spend a grand on a top notch tracker.

What do I need to do - if anything?

Does not matter if its a cat 1, 2, or none, if its fitted bad then it will protect your car bad. Someone may correct me on this but I think the alarms are dealer fitted, so although dealers will have been given instructions by Sigma/Subaru on how and where to fit and connect they may differ slightly. Best and cheapest way besides your disklok is something like Clifford Blackjax or the Spal anti hijack system which is a bit more covert and less hassle to use.
