Disklocks are really good. I've had mine for about a year now and no problems so far. I've seen them for sale in costco for around £45+vat (most places are around £80).

Best visual deterent on the market IMO.

Got my silver one from Halfords, circa £70.

Becomes a 60 second job to take on / off and gives you something to do whilst you let the engine idle to cool down.

 

i was reading somewhere a couple of days ago about someone who lost the keys to their disklock.

apparently it took a master locksmith twenty minutes to get it off with a variety of tools, including an electric drill.

it would appear that its not something that can be removed easily or quickly- even with the keys, in my case!

Autoexpress did a test on a load of security items like this recently and this one won. Took ages to get off. The article said they'd probably see it and go elsewhere and look for something easier to get off.

Absolutely superb. The lock on mine failed, so the only option to remove was to grind it off. Contacted Disklok, replacement FOC, and they'd never had this problem before. Customer service from manufacturer excellent.

Spoke to the local police, and they told me never known of an attempted theft with a motor fitted with a disklok.

Key snapped in lock on the one I used to have on my old MY00. Locksmith took half an hour to drill out the lock in a shopping centre car park. Not one person came to ask what we were doing!

The keys are very delicate, don't force it.

I bought mine from Halfords for £60 the same day I picked up my scoob. Not many people seem to use them . They can be a pain in the aris when you are driving and it's knocking about in a footwell. But at least you have a car to drive.

Tip, always park next to a performance car that does not have one fitted ;-)

 

What size for an MY00 ? (is it small ?), also is the bag worth getting ? Disklok are offering free bag if order done on-line (£80 all in ), anywhere any cheaper ?

 

The small one is the size to go for. Ordered mine of disklok and got the bag which is quite useful if you have passengers in the car and it velcro's to the boot to stop it sliding around.

Read just the other day of a CAT1 alarm and immobiliser being defeated in 15 minutes as part of a security test in some magazine. They tried it with the disklok also and gave up after 20 minutes. It is definitely worth having and I ordered mine a few days before I got my Scooby.

 

Downside I've found of mine...

Park in the sun all day at work (no shade in our car park), and a lot of the glue holding the rim protector and velcro bits in place melts. All over the shop on mine now

I'll order from Disklok and get the bag..

 

I always put my disklok in its bag, & under passenger seat- very little movement as it has to be wedged in slightly.

The velcro on the bottom of the bag can stop it moving too, but I found I was catching the material of the passenger seat with it sometimes, which over time would have made a real mess. As a solution, I got some (female?) velcro to stick on the bag's (male?) velcro.

Apart from showing how **** I am about my car, I hope that is of some use to someone.
