Pentagon Supaglass / Clifford question
Hi,
Has anybody had their windows done with the Pentagon Supaglass security covering (not the pimp-tint
) and what do you think of it / ever had to rely on it to stop somebody getting in
? I spoke to the Rochdale office and they said they'd just done an STi7 with the light smoke version - if you're reading this, what do you think of it and how much is it actually tinted?
Secondly, if you have it fitted, does it "interfere" with the operation of the Clifford glass smashing detector thingy (alters noise signature as it's laminated)?
Soz for all the q's but wondering whether it's worth it (aside from the paranoia justification
)
TIA

AFAIK the glass-break sensor is adjustable. Check if there's a small dial on the unit. If so, you might be able to adjust it so that even a sharp tap on the glass with a metal object will register. If that's the case, you're sorted.
u can adjust the glass breaker as Apple suggested. Carefull not to make it too sensitive.
I set it too high and it kept on picking up the proximty sensor noise. Trial and error really.
And u got to find the sensor. Ussually located near the passenger side footwell.

My wife has a friend who has 7 cars (£££££££'S) all go straightr to them for a mildtint/security film. They have had 2 attempts on the cars .one at a traffic light. They talk about the Thieves faces as they drove off... they laugh about it!!! Pentagon are very proffesional and the finish is excellent.
Thanks Luke
Looks like it's pennies saving time again

Any idea how deep the tint is? One evening, I went out for a walk with a group of mates where I wouldn't dare leave the scoob and there were a few cars with the rear windscreen put through
. Talking to Pentagon, it's obviously more expensive having rear window done as well but they'd have to do it anyway if you want others tinted so it matches the rest - they say it's a granite grey tint rather than brown / green - any idea how dark as I don't want it to look like a pimpmobile
Apple
PS it might just come down to going to nearest office and having a butchers if there's one being done.

just found there's a minute link to a page on their website showing the tints but it's not very helpful and they all look a similar shade...
seems like a trip to deepest / darkest Lancashire in order

try Pentagon Supaglass and search through the various pages
The tints page takes a bit of finding and doesn't seem too helpful piccy-wise - difficult to tell the difference between the various shades
it's not something you can buy in a shop and fit yourself - it has to be bonded to the glass and AFAIK they take out the windows to do it so you've to leave the car with them overnight

forgot to add - colours = clear or granite grey (I think they mean neutral grey shade rather than warm / cold tone of blue / brouwn / green tints
also they do none security tints which might be in other shades ??
no connections etc, just trying to find out for myself before splashing out

I was quoted something like 300 quid for clear security film and 375 ish for tinted as they have to do rear windscreen to make it match (they don't bother doing it for clear films).
Can't remember whether these include VAT or not and was told it was an "intoductory offer" as the Rochdale branch had just opened - might be same price or higher?
