Default Moving sensors on A pillars - Blob STI

Hi Guys,

(Right place this time)

I want to remove the A pillar covers to re-finish them but theres a wire that runs through the pillar into the little alarm sensor things.

Does anyone know if I can just 'unplug' or cut and re-attach the wire to the sensor without any ill-effects?

I don't know the code for the alarm system incase anything goes wrong.

Thanks,

No plug at the sensor end the wires are soldered on.
you will have to Un plug them at the sigma unit remove the plastic cover over the terminals and feed the whole wire through.
I wouldn't cut them

Thanks for the reply!

wheres the alarm unit and what's the easiest way to get to it?
Ive taken the a pillar off and the wire is fed through a tiny hole I can't see me getting a plug through the hole to pull the whole thing out intact.

the alarM unit is behind the glove box in a gold metal security box.
once you have unplugged it and removed the plastic cover off the terminals they will fit through the tiny hole.
the wires will also be cable tied to the loom behind the dash in places just to make it harder.

You can cut them and then rejoin them with no problem, will take 2 minutes rather than 2 hours.
