Is the valet mode active??
if the red light is on constantly that normally means the code has been entered and the alarm disabled.
Would suggest you put the code in to disable and re enable your alarm

Do you not have the code for the alarm?
If not then your car isnt secure and id get in touch with a clifford dealer immediately!!
They can change the code for you using a laptop so hopefully you wont have this prob again (and choose your own code too!)

you can put the alarm on and of valet mode by the remote control aswell by pressing the star and headlight buttons together but if you put the key in and start it up in this mode it should start up alright as its just for servicing and of course valleting.

If the LED is on continuously, as mentioned earlier the system will be in valet mode (it's overridden state) but if turning the ignition on doesn't cancel this condition, it won't be a Thatcham system. If you can find a hidden valet switch such as the type found on older systems which have no code, when you find it, turn on the ignition fully then move the switch to it's other position, the LED will turn off and the alarm exits valet mode and the remote should begin working again.
Or it's buggered.
