Default bad smell inside car

hi,

im new to forum and wondered if anyone out there can help. just bought a 2005 subura legacy 2.0 - car has weird kind of smell inside - i think it may be mould or something in air con or air vents - has anyone else had this problem - any advise would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a ac bomb , you put them on pass floor by the heater motor , put ac on and put switch to recirc and shut all the doors and windows , push the button on the top , close the door and let do it thing .....

Usually takes a 10 to 15 min , but dont jump in till and hour after .....

Failing that , check to see if the carpets are not wet , could be a leaking heater matrix .

Yep worth checking the Aircon filter too. If it gets damp could cause the musty smell when switching the aircon on. Glovebox cover may need removed to check it though.
