Yes,

a few of us grouped together to buy a whole case of the stuff. It was delivered last week. I've got the stocks for the Aberdeen(shire) guys at my house.

I've got enough to last me more than a year, so if anyone want to borrow some in the meantime please get in touch. Cost about £36 for 5 litres, including delivery, which is much cheaper than everywhere else we've asked.

Alan,

would be happy to sell you 5l of my consignment nutil such times we do another group buy. We got it direct from the UK distributors, hence the good prices. They'll only deal in bulk purchases, so as not to upset their retail outlets.

Where abouts are you, and how quickly do you need it ?

Question

Sam,

it's the 15w/50 grade that we've got. Highly recommended for cars which see hard use, such as track days etc. Maintains the oil pressure very well at high operating temperatures

I've not got any spare if Alan buys 5l from me, so perhaps we need to look at another group buy ?

How many people are interested - need to order at least 12x 4 litre, and 12x1 litre to make it economical. Most people took two of each last time, for roughly £36 per 5 litres including VAT,

is there any proof that the motul stuff is better than mobil1 motorsport or castrol rs?

I thought that either of the above three are the best for turbo charged cars, just what you could get the easiest.I have always run mobil motorsport on track but if there is proof that the motul is better I would take some too.

T-UK, several people have commented about the Motul oil being better. Those with oil pressure gauges have noticed that it maintains a higher oil pressure, especially when hot (ie track day hot!), than the Mobil 1 motorsport.

If the WRC team use it in preference to other oils, then it must be good stuff.

There's also a rumour that Subaru in Australia are going to recommend the Motul 300v 15w/50 as their oil of choice, after extensive testing.

I've also spoken to someone who used to work for a race team. They used to send their oil away for analysis after every race, and found the Motul stood up best to the abuse, and hadn't degraded nearly as much as some others.

It is more expensive than the others, but it's a small amount to pay if it extends the life of your engine.

cheers john.

how much are the 4 litre and 1 litre cans seperately?I would rather buy a few large 4l containers as the singles will probably work out very expensive.

i have used motul 10/40 in my subaru for track days and it did not blow up considering the abuse i gave it over 2 1/2 years. i think i thicker grade would have been better. saying that i have got an oil guage in so i iwll be able to tell if i get a higher pressure or not pretty quickly

so when will the next group by be then john

John,

the costs are about £28 for the 4 litre container, and £8 each for the 1 litre containers.

The ->MY00 cars take 4.5 litres per change, with the MY01 cars needing 5 litres (well mine does).
