Question

As I had to leave early what was the highlights of the day??

I know of Sams 370bhp and Petes 300bhp, very happy men I might add. It thought we would have to tie Pete down...ooooh err' as he was doing a far bit of jumping about after his result.

What did Alan G's Car achieve? Gordons P1 and Keiths monster Skyline?????

Come on guys, I know Pete is posting on his website, but give a little in-sight as to what went on.

I take it Dougsy had another go at wrecking the fan

Keith, I'm disappointed for you mate. I'm sure you'll melt Jims rollers by the end of the year.

Bugger...should have got there earlier to see Sams run, and after all our hard work on Petes motor..I missed his run too

Quite happy with my results though, interested to see if any of the linked UK cars came near my torque figure...

A very happy 250bhp & 305lb/ft torque

Cheers to Sam for organising & Jim & Brian @ Star

Unhappy

Not really happy with mine's. 293 BHP with 254lb/ft. Considering it's got a decatted Mongoose Exhaust and a Blitz Induction Kit and running on SUL.

On a standard P1 it should have 280PS(276BHP) with 254lb/ft.

What have I done wrong? I don't understand it. I went to S & S Services and asked for his advice and he reckons it's the exhaust. You see the exhaust orginally came from my Terzo.

John at S & S reckons that the exhaust was originally designed to give extra power to a standard MY'98, bringing up to say 240 BHP. But because the P1 is already running at 276 BHP, he reckons the exhaust is actually slowing the car down!

Please help! I want to get to 300BHP!

Didn't get to see your car on the rollers.

Are you still using they chocolate pistons? or is it an Sti set up to handle 1.7 bar?

Alan

its more the toffee gearbox that I'm worried about, mine has seen more than its fair share of 1/4 mile sprints

Cosie

Running a standard ECU means I can use the select monitor to check for knocking corrections.

John

its toolbox mounted for easy access

did anyone else get a 2nd power run with the intercooler fan on??

my first run was 240/297 showing the fan does make a small difference to the figures.

hi john as for melting the rollers there was smoke coming
from them when the last run was done.

jim came out of my car and said it was a bit daunting

sam you better watch out at knockhill at 4800 revs
434 lbs torque 114 more than you low down power
and 483 bhp at 6800 revs.

only winding you up sam

keith,

do you ever do the top marque night at K/hill.a m8 of mine comes up for these sometimes with his skyline, fast on the straight, just a pity for the corners .post it up the next time you are going and I'll see if he can come up and give you some sport,he is at 450bhp just now,but should have more for the next one.Sam's played with him a few times .

To Dave Brown: Very impressed with your torque figure. What mods have you done & what boost do you run? Regards Harvey Smith.

the corners dont bother me, i was at knockhill with my last 450 bhp
skyline and none of the evos, scoobys, tvrs came close even the ones on slicks i was also on soft toyos t1s tyres.
the only thing that i could not catch and pass was the GT2 of dave jones awesome car.
my last car had std brakes this one has tarox 340mm 6pots
fitted.
the std ones only lasted 5 laps then i lost the brakes.
a skyline is 1540kg and to heavy to leave the braking to the last second.
so i hope the tarox ones will be better than std
the 4 wheel hicas has to be used to the max to make a skyline fast round a race track.
yes let me know when

hi kieth
just kidding mate
there is one on march i think it is an sidc day with few places allocated to the MLR club as well. last time you had a straight line advantage but i hope this time with the shorter gearing and more power you won't have too much of an advantage .

i mean don't get me wrong your skyline is the faster car but maybe at a track like donnigton where there is some 130mph straights.

only 130 mph it will pull that at knockhill down railway straight

this thing pulls 150 mph in 4th gear i will have to give you a
run in a skyline sam.

i will have you trading in your evo yet.
