i havent held a slide for long tho - not sure how the car will react... had it very very sideways couple times... but chickened out and let it come back in..
had understeer a few times when ive ballsed up... oops..
not good ... but abs does work

I had a good play in the yard at work yesterday it's great fun demonstrating lift-off oversteer to unsuspecting passengers, start to slide and lift right off the car does a rather quick 180+ , keep the foot down and it crabs sideways all the way down the road
Laughed a lot at all of the RWD cars that got stuck tonight in the city centre, all the poor BMW drivers just spinning their wheels , couldn't help but smile as I drive past em

Scooby Regular
A couple of years ago, found a car park with heavy fresh snow. Wheels straight ahead, plant the accelerator and a nice 720degree spin resulted

I managed a 180 on the main street in Inverurie without trying. This was much to the amusement of the car behind me and the lorry coming the other way. The Scooby is back in the garage until we get a thaw.

The old 180 is very easily done in this weather, you've just got to be very gentle on the power, and if the rear end does start to slip do NOT lift your foot off the loud pedal !! just keep the power on (gently) and steer very slightly into the slide.
It works, I know cos I've tried it lots of times in the last few days .

Pete,
I can't believe you haven't had any snow only a few miles down the road. We've had snow every day since Xmas day, and still a few inches on the ground.
Even some of the main roads are slippery in places up here (if you want them to be - like the junction of Gt Western Rd and Holburn Street )
Haven't spun yet, but I've been having lots of fun.
B&Q car park is quite entertaining, as they never seem to grit/clear it, and at the top end there are rarly many car or other things to hit!
Even this morning I struggled to get up the side hill beside my house.

Excellent news about Big Red at KH Pete. Be good to see what he/she can do around the track. Just remember to grab an instructor for your first trip out, so you don't have time to learn any bad habits and use the wrong lines like I did. Took me several attempts to start ironing them out afterwards

i'm pretty new to rwd so the snow has given me shed loads of experience on controlling slided and feathering the throttle as opposed to lifting off.

Hmmmmm....
Gave an Integrale owning chum a shot of my Scoob the other day...Early afternoon, clear conditions, exiting a roundabout, not a drop of snow on the road (plenty on the side...), wee bit slushy...
He steers round, straightens the wheels, and applies a boot of 2nd gear....WHOA! Sidey-ways left, then sidey-ways right due to over correction...Luckily not going fast, so the car straightened itself out, and continued on it's way, but pretty disturbing none the less...
The guy's driven performance cars for longer than me, and has tackled the same road in his 'grale in worse conditions at greater speed...Okay, I've got a modded Type R, and the diff was fully open, but it has certainly made me very cautious in this cold snap...
Be careful out there boys and girls...
Ross.
