Default Moving to Aberdeen anyone got any info on the place?

I am thinking of moving to Aberdeen for work reasons and was wondering if anyone knows the city at all and would be able to give some advice. My knowledge is poor to say the least, i know union st, teh station, pittodrie and thats about it lol

Does anyone know what sort of areas are nice to live in and safe for scooby parking, as i will be looking to rent for a few months til i get established, im looking for the names of nice areas where my motor and i will be safe lol. I will be working in the north near the AECC so what is commuting like and will i be better trying to find somewhere in the north of the city .

Where are the best places to find accomodation, i have been looking on ASPC, is that the best place or are there others?

Also generally, whats it like as a place to live and how accessible are the ammenities, such as supermarkets, cinemas etc, are they in town or all out of town.

Cheers

I would say that you are taking a risk parking it in the street anywhere in the city that would have pedestrians walking past, it doesn't matter how nice the area is. More for vandalism than theft, though I had bits taken off mine in the "West End"

This isn't a slate on Aberdeen as I would say that about any place. You'd be safer looking for a modern development with their own car parks off the street and away from prying eyes.

In fact, you can rent my 1 bed flat (available in May), which is half a mile from the AECC in a quiet development with private parking!!

Look for a rental in Bridge of Don. Handy for you getting to work during the day and only a £10 taxi journey home from the city center

If your looking for a rental you'd be best contacting the rental specialists.

Aberdeen Property Leasing - this is one of the biggest rental agencies and use them to rent my flats out

Homeguard Leasing - Friend of the family works here and they always get nice properties to rent out.

PM me if you have anymore specific questions
