Default If we have a Scottish meet........

........could we have a car boot day?

I could bring along a Sony MDX-CD680X MDLP mini-disc head unit.

Now I have no idea what it is worth but if someone could guess I would happily swap it for some green.

It also comes with a nice little Sony RM-X114 remote control.

PM me for details of the meet and remember to post up what YOU might bring as 'booty'

Cheerio.

For a gearkit, all you need is the casing, so although Peters is a great package, i'd be paying a lot of money for stuff i don't need.

Dougster

Probably wont make it due to the forthcoming family commitments.
Just keeping the thread alive anyway.

Whats the latest on this anyway?

Hope its a sensible meet and all goes well for those who attend.

Lets hope its not attended by the idiots that appear to be behind the wheel of these cars nowadays.

Looking through some posts on "other" forums, there would appear to be too many a55holes who find it acceptable to drive at speed along the roads, do donuts and fly over bridges these days.~

To say I was disgusted would be an understatement when I read the posts!!

Makes me ashamed to have one of these cars. I think I will keep mine off the road and use it purely for track and event use.

Anyway, back on topic.

You will miss the 4x4 soon enough though.
You cant bounce off the kerbs and drive accros rivers in an A3

Just bought Ally a RR Vogue yesterday as she likes here 4x4's too much.
She gets the green wellys and the Spaniels next week. hehehe

Take care Matey, speak soon.

Glesga meeting for the Lad's and Lass's with a brain in their head
First off, you were not at the meet so you do not know the context of the jumping over a brodge or the donuts and remember 3 figures can be 100 km/h

Second off, you are acting a wee bit holier than thou.......hhhhmmmmm.....type-r scotland run..................sma glen road.................i was into 3 figures and you were pulling away from us in the Bug-eye but granted you did know the road well and you are a fantastic driver.

Dissappointed in you Jamie, you may as well sell the RA and buy a Subaru 360 which i think had a top speed in the region of 58mph

The Glesga meet is next Thur and we, i say we i mean about 15 plus of us, will be heading out a run around the Trossachs area and i can assure you we will all be wearing tweed jackets, eating crumpets and jam and keeping the cars under 100 (KM/h) all the way except for the villages where i am sure we will drop a gear and maybe horse through there at 28 - 29 mph.

For anyone else intersted there is a regular Scottish Subaru meet in your area, although if it was up to Dougster the meet would be when ever he could be arsed arranging it, make sure it on a Monday so to catch the Footie on the big screen and make it as close to his house as possible

The Glasgow meet is this Thurs at The Brewers Fayre in the Hillington Ind Est
Starting at 1900 and leaving at 1930 for a gentle stroll in the country or drive round the country like an a$$hole, it will entirely depend on how much of a hypocryt you feel like being

Hey Grant.

Your old user name been blocked Weird eh?

Listen dude, your right. I wasn't at the run and I dont know the exact ins and outs of what went on.
However, even someone as simple as me can read between the lines when you see posts containing, for example,

"the unhinged group was as mad as ever, glad I managed to keep up in my standard car although I did have one spin and a huge airborne moment"

"**** me you guys were fleeing. I was struggling to keep up and I was in the 2nd group"

"got a bit scared with all the ,mad drivers"

"I did struggle a wee bit to keep up with the mentally unhinged"

Now....unless the people who wrote these posts are complete "Miss Daisy's", then there must be something in what they write.

Just managing to keep up in a standard car????
I have owned a standard car...and it wasn't slow.

Posts about "getting air" ?????
Cant remember the last time I saw a sign before a bridge that said "Caution, car might become airborne"

Says to me that there was some kind of limit broken there.

If not...we best get the location of these areas and make them known to all road users.
I dont fancy getting my car a foot in the air while Im driving along listening to Westlife with the wife and kids in the back.

Please understand that I didn't go looking for these posts.
I had them brought to my attention by a friend of a friend who happens to be one of our "boys in Blue", if you know what I mean.
I think you will find that they are monitoring what goes on by using the "net" these days.
I was asked if I had anything to do with the "outing" as she knew I used to be involved with a Subaru Club.

And by the way, I never mentioned the SIDC run in my previous post either.
Guilty conscious???

Your absolutely right in what you said about the type R run too.
I hold my hand up.Regardless of whether or not I knew the roads or how good a driver I am, you never know whats round the corner do you.

Why do you think I now have a car that's only suitable for private road use?
You cant use a car on the road that has 200hp to its full potential, never mind one with 300-400hp.

Your on the roads more that most of us so you should know and have seen what damage all the idiots in cars can and are doing these days.
Too many folk round my area have been killed due to speeding, reckless drivers who have their ambitions and capabilities the wrong way round.

Fair enough, there could be a budding Petter Solberg in the club and he or she could very well be a great driver...but everyone can make a mistake when driving. It tends to be a bigger one as the speed increases !!!

Is it a good advert for the club and the marque when they are seen blasting down the roads these days?
It seems that everyone has their hands on them and treat them like getaway cars.
It wasnt the case a few years back was it.
They were a respectable breed of cars and drivers.

Anyway, thats just my take on the whole situation.

If Im very very wrong then fair enough.
Please let anyone who has a valid point to put across, put it across.

Im sure we wont fall out over this Grant.
We have known each other long enough to understand each other I would say.

Take a step back and have a look at how it all looks and see if you can see what I'm saying.
