Cool

no information yet.

Did you go to the AECC today?, did you get a hurl in the new Impreza?, what do you think on it?

I did not hang about because of the sh*t weather, but the hurl in the car was fun.

Chris

Paul, Jools and I were setting it up for Feb 11th, but they are still offshore, so still awaiting confirmation.

However John Stewart will post details if it is still going ahead.

Hi guys,

I was planning on driving up to Aberdeen from Edinburgh for the meet on Sunday, as I have to drop in on someone up that way anyhow ...

So, is anyone else actually going ? I quite enjoyed the get together in Perth a couple of weeks ago.

Guys,

as Tut says (he has a blue coloured one, not yellow), the meeting was originally planned to coincide with trips home by a few of the local members. As Paul will no longer be home until the following weekend (by which time Jools will be away), I'd suggest that we meet up anyway, as there seems to be enough interest for a small gathering. The logistics will be much simpler with only a handful of cars, and we can virtually choose where we want to go and eat lunch etc.

How about meeting at the beach, in the nice big car park outside the cinema complex where we have met for the past few years. Nice and easy to get to and find for those who live outside the area.

11am(ish).

We could possibly even eat lunch there, before heading off for a drive somewhere (weather permitting of course!).

John,

Sounds like a great idea, assuming that I can find my way there through the snow

I even promise to make it all the way to lunch this time

Any chance of posting a map for those of us who have never been to Aberdeen before ?

Andrew.

Exclamation

Here is a map.

Map removed so page loads quicker

You enter Aberdeen at the bottom, if you take the first turn off to Aberdeen, which is marked "Football Coaches" then you arrive at Road 1 (after going straight ahead at the first roundabout Cove/Makro). if you do not turn off you arrive at Road 2.

The object of the exersize is to try to get to the top right hand corner.

Good luck

Stuart

A grand total of 11 cars turned up (not too bad considering how cold it was!).

Went for a nice drive to Ballater. Wasn't expecting quite as much snow as that, but the cars took it in their stride

Hope everyone else had a great day, and it was a pity I had to rush off home early.

See you all again soon.

It was looking pretty bleak on the way up

Cool

I had a great time, finally met some of the people I chat or E-Mail too.

One or two hairy moments, especially a big pool of standing water on a corner on the way out of Dunecht!!

Hi Folks

Thanks to John & Jools for putting together another good meet. The route was very entertaining & luckily not to busy with Sunday drivers.Must say that certain parts of the route kinda resembled the coverage of the Findland rally!!
Needless to say the single track, snowbanked roads & deep standing water didnt seem to hamper the pace much & Tut proved once again that you dont need 4wd & 1200+ kg to stay on the road.
I had a slight mishap after one of the downhill twisty sections. My brakes must have been red hot when I ploughed through a deepish puddle, the cold water came in contact with the discs & caused the N/S one to crack severely. So the drive home was a careful one.A quick trip down to Falkland this morning sorted me out with a set of black diamond discs so I can stop the bugger now!!
