Stevie, forgot to say in PM, I also have a bike carrier that fits onto roof bars if your interested?

Fuel consumption is ridiculous as the drag is equivalent of a parachute out the back of the wagon door!!!!!

Anyone else need anything delivered 'Wagon Power'???

£600 for tyres - are they titanium reinforced or something like that ?

If you up your tyres pressure to about 45 psi (cold), then there is very little movement in the tyre sidewall. This means that you don't scrub the outside edges of the tyres, and wear isn't nearly as bad as you think. Certainly you can easily get 4 track events, plus about 10 - 12,000 miles out of a set of road tyres - it all depends on how aggressive you are. If you drive around at a healthy pace, but just below the point where the tyres are squealling around each corner, then wear isn't too bad at all, especially if you limit your sessions to about 10 laps or so. It once the tyres get too hot and soft that they start to wear more quickly.

If you are suffering lots of tyre wear, particularly on the nearside front tyre, then simply get the guys from Wheels Around to rotate your wheels front to back to even up tyre wear/temperatures etc.

Besides, Ronnie at Wheels Around will be there with some unbeatable offers on Toyos (e.g. around £60 fitted for some popular Impreza sizes!)

Based on these prices, the total cost in tyre wear is likely to be about £20 - £60 at most, again depnding on how you drive.

It is possible to drive and have a huge amount of fun around the track, and hardly suffer any tyre wear at all.

What you will go through tough is a lot of fuel Expect to use a full tank during a 4 hour session like this, or sometimes more if you are very keen

Oops, typo....

My old 19's with 235 35 19 Toyos were £150 each.

My current tyres are 18's, but still around £120 a corner.....

I'd love to try a trackday, but I'm $hit scared of bending the RB5....

After seeing Tony's "off" in his STi7, it hammered home the risk to the car, especially if you neglect to get trackday cover.

My car is currently for sale, and one of the first questions that interested parties always ask is "Has it had any track days?"

In the minds of a lot of people, track days de-value the car. I know its rubbish, but its the way it is.

I'd still love to have a go though.....
