Talking trip to run engine in

looking to run the engine as much as poss before wednesday when i go on holiday. i'm still working monday and tuesday, but was hoping to get 300 miles done at least, this weekend.....if all goes well tomorrow and it goes in without a problem

was thinking of a trip to inverness?? is there any shell garages up this way and what sort of mileage we talking about to there from balloch, back down to perth/stirling and back to balloch? or would i be better going a bit further north? gotta be mostly b roads as i have to do between 2.5 and 3k revs!!!! for the first 300 miles

any ideas peeps?

where can i get one of those from? was told i could get a vf34 roller bearing for about £700. not very clued up on this vf/td etc etc.
all i know is that the same vf is used on a group n rally impreza
have looked into the chip route but don't think i will gain much over my ppp, especially if the gets replaced altogether i.e not a piggy back.

Dave glad to see you back on the road again so quickly
Hope it didnt sting too much, did you do the work yourself or did you have an engine rebuilder do the dirty work for ya?

I did mine last week on the M74 - plenty of shell garages along the way

cheers dougie just hope all goes well today

spooks. i've got a local mechanic to do it, who is also sort of a freind. it was rather expensive in the end, but it didn't HAVE to be! in other words i bought "all the right stuff"

marky-san. you mean to say, you ran your engine in on the m74 or something?

andy. it all depends on how much power your wanting to head for bud. vf is more off the mark stuff, but 05 will give a better kick. you can get a td05 from www.gradea-subaru.co.uk, but you then have to convert it to front entry. andyf does this, very quickly and very well done too

Turn Off to the Hospital as you come into inverness from perth, follow signs for hospital, go staight past traffic lights for hospital turn off........ 1 optimax station, Only one in inverness as far as i know!

Have fun Mate, A9 is a b*gger at 50mph, did it in a camper van not too long ago....... If ever again it will be too soon

Yes, ran in the last of them on the M74 - was taking too long to get to my oil change at 1000. Just offered the M74 route direction as an easy mile munching alternative, otherwise its a long long way to Inverness going the wrong direction

u pi55ed steve???

pmsl i'll be along when it's finished bein run in and finally finished mapped!!!

the 20g would be awesome, but i'd then need (at least) an fmic, injectors, headers and so on in order to get to the next stage......well... to me it's the next stage. in other words, i look at it all in stages. i've taken the ic and injectors to max, so if i was getting them upgraded, then i'd go the full hog. but i can't see me going for that till me g-box is fecked.
