,not good mate. I take it you have done a compression test?you evo guys need to realise that your standard internals are not as strong as the scoobs
.seriously though the whole scoob v evo reliability debate does seem to be getting more and more similar these days. I have always found that the evo needs a fair bit more power to take a scoob, certainly sam's old 330bhp scoob was faster in a straight line than his same powered evo and even though it is faster through the corners, I would say it would need 400bhp to be as fast on the straights, but that sounds like you need to go internal.
before anyone thinks I am trying to cause a scoob v evo war. if I had thought I would have been able to sell the scoob, for what I felt it was worth to me late last year, I would have and probably bought an evo6 by now, instead of starting to mod my scoob.
perhaps we should all forget the big power,4x4,turbo rally replicas, buy hondas and learn to drive

Sorry to hear that bad news Moses
However just look on it as an opportunity, get those uprated internals in now for some real fun
Then Sam can be your bitch
I'd recommend John Banks to map it for you if you want good power and torque with excellent reliability
Andy
ps Still want to trade it in for my scoob

lol brian yeah u will pass me by a few car lengths
and hello john evos can handle alot more mate trust me i was running 1.6 bar and not just that everything was well till that incident with 6 bar of fuel pressure 5 bar vaccum off since that time the tuner forgot to set it to 2.9 bar its not been good, i reckon thats what messed it up and alan reckons it might have been overboost and it knocked 4 something times yesterday first before it happened so its my own fault for running alot of boost coz evo 4 ones are the weakest the evo 6 internals can handle over 400 bhp and john from england and his evo 7 on standard internals and a 25g turbo it made 475 bhp, evo internals are strong but as i said i have a evo 4 , trust me john , ask pete and alan when mine was getting mapped and only with a induction and full exhaust system , nothing else done at all it was fast as **** and torquey with sam, pete, alan and myself in it, so its faster than a 330 bhp scooby
with the same power
and andy hi mate i wont wanna trade a evo in for a scoob but would luv to buy your car mate as a second car so i can whip some butt
but u have done alot of work to that car and i cant afford the price but if i was getting it cheap i wont complain, your scooby is the one i really want or rice rockets one
sam and mark shead are my fave mappers and i think i will stick to him
my dear friend j banks will probably map it to go slower than his scoob
and hows j banks anyway miss his stuff and input he is one cool guy
say hi to him from me but i might need his help for my mate wacky's new wrx ppp scooby but only prob is his warranty so so far he could only fit ppp stuff or else he looses his warranty and andy i swear the new scoob is a dream to launch u dont even need to try i had it yesterday and we swapped our cars and the new scoob is surely cool and i luv it below 3000 revs its torquay

moses,
I would agree with alan on it probably being overboost.
out of interest have you checked your fuel pressure lately? some adjustable fpr's have a habit of adjusting themselves if the locking nut comes loose, usually leaning out
, also is the manifold line damaged or even blown off the fpr? , if your car has recently started knocking, lack of fuel pressure could also have aided your piston problem
. this is one of the reasons I am fitting a fuel pressure gauge with warning to my car, when the fpr goes on.

feckin hell john u got a point coz last week i was told my fuel pressure reg thingy hose was off and the guy refitted it unless it was tightened the wrong way , just when he sorted my gear linkage i didnt give it thought
