Despite the campaign by some to oust me from my position, cos apparently I was no longer capably or suitable for the task because I do not live in Scotland anymore, I am still here I've finally settled in and got good internet access so I will hopefully start to play a more active roll again.
So what is going on we appear to have a major split between the people who want the football posts in here and the ones who don't. In my opinion most of the football related posts only serve one purpose and that is to cause trouble and usually start arguments.
So we have 2 choices leave everything in here and just lock /delete it if it gets out of hand or move everything over to the Sports forum and "Keep Scotland tidy"

Stuart,
IMHO there are 3 topics which should not be discussed on a BBS (or in a pub) unless u r up 4 a rumble.
These are 1. Politics 2. Religion & 3. Football
and as such when I was moderating the "crail thrashers" group these topics were jumped on from a great height & not allowed
as 9/10 times they end up in a slagging match or are only there to intimidate other users.
So as u`ve probably guessed I`d bin them and make the state of play on these clear But hey that`s jus MHO.
BTW welcome back Might b in touch with u soon 4 some stuff.
Pete

I agree with Technopete. Tonight I've been called a bigot and I can put my hand on my heart and say that I've never been so insulted. Thank god its just words on the internet and not to my face.
I admit I started a footy thread but that was just to congratulate Celtic for doing well to represent Scotland abroad and it didn't lead to slagging, etc.

Hello Stuart,
Good to hear from you, hope all is well in red neck land !
I’m as daft on football as the next fellow and had a season ticket for many years down the road in Glasgow. I stopped going when the boys came along, as the impact on family life was too much, what with me being an offshore worker.
1 on 1 banter face to face is fine, but it doesn’t work with e-mail and place’s like Scoobynet. I fully support the thoughts of Teknopete above; it will ALWAYS end up with someone being offended to some degree or other and that often spoils the spirit of the Scottish forum.
In saying that I respected the posting by Moses and quietly thought well done, big respect to him for that; but look at it now...

This is about Scoobs and other fun with driving.
I was shocked at how the thread was taken, and think its not worth it coz of the above.

Having been brought up in Belfast at the height of the troubles the last thing I want to see is stuff on "Politics" "Religion" and "football" Nearly all wars have been caused by at least one of the subjects IMHO. Probably why I am not interested in any of the three.
We do not want any wars on Scoobynet, do we?

In todays modern and cosmopolitan society the discussion of race religion and politics are not conducive to a pleasant friendly atmosphere. The discussion of football in itself should not be a problem here, but unfortunately we live in a country where football and religion go hand in hand. You only need to ask someone about colours, or listen to the songs sung on the terraces to realise that bigotry runs deep in Scotland.
Imagine not waving to a blue STi driver because they must be a _______ or a white wagon driver because they are a _______
It's shameful, and we should make every effort to stop this hatred from being indoctrinated into other parts of our culture.

I was going to reply with a long winded post.
I will just say that I wave to a guy most mornings in a blue sti from my white wagon.
There is a moral to this story that a lot of Glasgow people will relate to.

As far as I am concerned I will push them to the Sports forum as soon as I see them, unless they are already getting heated then I will lock or delete them.
Now how do I work these secret buttons again
