Car is due its 2 year service. Think it is the 30000 mile one. I have heard it can be expensive. Any ideas how much and where to get it done. I am frightened to ask T&C where I normally get it serviced. I have had some heart stopping bills in the past.

Try giving Nobles in Penicuk and SS in Ayr a call.

A wee bit further to travel, especially SS but have heard them to be a lot cheaper.

T&C are probably the most expensive.

Got my last service at T&C for £118 and found out could have got it at Nobles for about £90.

I spoke to someone who lived in Aberdeen who reckoned it was cheaper including fuel to drive to S & S in ayr 01292880080 than go to T&C...

Don't forget Fickens if Forfar, only 40 min in the car as well.
Probably your best bet.

I live only 20 minutes from S+S Services and use them all the time. They look after you car nae probs. Just ask for John Spicer and tell him that dougie sent you, you will also get your Sidc discount as well.

They must be good if John S bought his car down here as well.

I recently got the 30,000 service done, after much phoning around to discover that half the dealers in the manual either no longer existed or had lost their franchise, I managed to get about 6 quotes ranging from 320 to 410, T&C were about 390. I ended up going to Kenneth Melville in Errol (01821 0670 242) and got it for 320. If you can put up with a Justy as the courtesy car its a lot closer to you than Ayr.

Still very expensive though, I spoke to a guy recently from down south who contacted the ex Subaru dealers in his area and found one who still had all the Subaru diagnostic kit for servicing and managed to get his 30,000 service for 180 quid depends how bothered you are about getting the Subaru stamp in your book.

I was £170 at T&C for my 10K service on the Sti...So if you don't go to T&C, Fiskens @ Forfar would be the next nearest. I have been down there several times picking up Paul M's P1 and they do him a very good job indeed. He has used them for 2 years now. Don't forget the option of heading West to Inverness. There are two dealers up that way and Keith Brand knows a guy, also with a P1, from Abz who goes to up there. Keith's now goes to Fiskens and his brother travels from Inverurie to Edinburgh to get his MY00 serviced. John S and co can't speak high enough of S&S.

Just shows you that people are prepared to put in the miles for good service at a good price.
