Ouch that's more than I thought it was going to be as well - though I do realise there is a LOT of solidering (u any good?).

I know that Gameforce (?) in Union Street chip PS2's but they use the older chip that requires the Replay CD as well (think that's right).

I'm keen to get mine done as the amount of stuff you can get through WinMX (peer-to-peer file sharing) is excellent.

Edited to say that I've just read you have the Neo already!

Richard.

Do you realise this also involves attaching about 30 wires? Loads of hassle so likely to be pricey.
I believe you can get it done at the Barra's.

Jus get an sbox usb chip A lot less hassle IMHO & only 1 wire to do. Sayin that it depends on which model u r running.

I've got the neo2.2 plus AR2 v2 but its a bit of a pain to boot up.

Messiah, I have been told although tricky to install, should only set me back around £35 which is nearly the price of the AR2 alone.

Trip tae ra barras ra morra! Will let you know how I get on.

Not yet. Still trying to source a chip at a reasonable price.

Been quoted £50 for chip supplied, £80 more to fit it.

Will fit it myself, but have heard they can be found for £35ish??

Doug, if you can source one including wiring diagram, I'll be willing to fit it for you.

Cheers David, will let you know.

Hey Scoty, you're not the only genius out there. I was merely using 'myself' as an expression as to having the means to fit it.

Although I do now have a solder. Do you?

Dougster - Does the neo2.2 plus AR2 v2 work well - apart from the hassle of swapping?

i.e. does it play 80min cdr cd's ok?

Cheers
Richard.

G Stores in Union Street sell and fit the Messiah for £120, and the Neo 2.2 for £60.

it is possible to boot everything with ar2 and No chip - do a search for swap tool - its a messy way to do things though.

I had a messiah fitted by gem computers - works brill on everything.

He was indeed! Scotsman seems interested too.

Kenny only lives down the road from me and is going to drop something off at the weekend.

David, as for my laptop problem I downloaded an updated driver and things seem to be going better. I have however come across some mp3 files that are playing a bit zingy. Will let you know how I get on!

Thanks again.
