Come on everyone - bookings for this event are currently in single figures, and that includes a few people who have said they are definitely coming, but who haven't sent in the forms yet.

Even at the start of this year there was a big demand for places at our Knockhill track days, and had a reserve list, but the last event (we just about broke even), and the one on the 28th seem to be strangely quiet.

If you are thinking of taking part, can you please send me an e-mail by tomorrow at the latest, to give us more confidence in the numbers.

That's the sort of response I was hoping for

Crush - can you send me an e-mail, and I'll send you a booking form. Alternatively, you can book on-line at http://shop.sidc.co.uk

Cheers

Booked a place for my wee yellow smartie two months ago - Hopefully the event will still go ahead. Need to get some of the spectators and their cars onto the track. They only have to look at the participating drivers faces to see just how much fun they are missing out on.

iain
i would love to go on
but if i do goose me brakes - i cant afford to replace them... and this my only car...

thats why i am saving towards an elise - so i can go on the circuit and come off grinning like i did on the lotus 111s day

only another 6 - 12 months saving to go
(if i goose me brakes, etc ... longer)

SCOSaltire

My brakes are nearly goosed but should be sorted for Kames on the 1st. Think I will need another set of rear tyres before winter as well. But what is that grin worth? You will love the Elise.

Thanks all,

numbers looking a bit better, but still well down on what we need to break even.

Crush - haven't had an e-mail from you at home or at work. Try john@sidc.co.uk

Sam - try your best to see if you can drum up some interest. Would be much appreciated.

Ken, Willie - cheers - interest noted

Phil - about your brakes - if it's your first track event, then it's likely that you'll not cook your brakes to the point of failure.

If you restrict your sessions to between 5 and 7 laps at a time, and do a full cooling down lap, then your brakes will be fine. The pedal will get a bit soft towards the end of each session, but that's just an indication to start easing off. The problems are when you push the brakes hard for long sessions, and the pads, discs and calipers get very hot. The wear rates then rise exponetially, and you can trash a set of pads and discs in a short period of time.

Having sadi that, the standard Subaru 4 pots are a lot better thyan the older 2 pot brakes, which I did many a track session with without problems. Simply didn't push them 100%, and kept it to shrot sessions. This has the added advantage of your tyres not overheating as well, which means the costs of the track event itself is minimal.

Iain,

from that pic, it is clearly obvious that you pulled over to let the Red Impreza pass you on the left

Jools in Denmark
Paul M offshore (Caspian sea)

Willie, what's this about PPP being fitted? Our car is in for 4/5 days for 10K service and a "paint job on the hoose..."
I've had the PPP ordered for 6 months now and heard zero, apart from on here!

This is an ideal opportunity for the Skyline boys to show us how well they go on a race track
