It was a VERY low (bolloxs) turn out today at AWD (8 cars). I know that the weather wasnt the best early this morning but if poeple can make the effort to travel from Aberdeen, Falkirk, Glasgow and Troon, surely some locals could have managed it.
We always complain that nothing happens and when it does this is the result, it was the same last weekend at Kames.
I left at about 2ish so not unless you turned up then after that.

RR,
I would have attended but I'm 12hr dayshift, I missed the last one in March for the same reason, better planning required
I would also have been travelling from Falkirk.

I think your main problem here is the people on this BBS. It's the old 300 BHP mega sorted car syndrome. Most people talk a good job but when it comes down to it their real identity is hidden. There are very few people that will turn up to meets and participate.
hell but what do I know I'm new to all this.
Start a my car's faster than yours thread and you'll get 100's of reply's.
Just my opinion ( prove me wrong )
I'm in the middle of the sea so my excuse is a good one, I hope I make the next event.

Lo MUR,
Nice to meet you today
I will probably be going to Brea's tomorrow, but if you would like me to spend some time with your car tomorrow, that would be fine for me.

The best mod I have ever done to my car was the turbo.
That's what you felt today
I found the dawes to be a great step up from standard. It was probably the dawes that gave me the motivation to go further and put the bigger turbo on ( along with the stern words from a few freinds )
With the dawes, you will need to buy a boost guage, and an air fuel gauge or lambda sensor. This is usually nessesary for setting up the dawes. Your ECU controls the boost level's at the moment, at standard, peek is 0.9 BAR. With the dawes, it will allow you to control the boost, also allowing you to up the boost to roughly 1.1 bar, which is were you standard ECU's fuel cut will come in.
Everything cost's money , a dawes is not expensive, costing aroung £25, so it give's good value for ££££. The boost and lambda can be bought for around £200 with pods. A full scoobysport system will cost around £700. Different exhaust don't just sound different, they all have different functions, so it may be best to get more info before parting will the hard earned cash
A dawes, and a back box would be a good place to start.

Craig, Ran a Dawes a whle ago on mine B4 going for the bigger turbo and Link so I can say that is good value for money as a starting upgrade but Turbos and ECU's are the next thing reqd - and get Knock and Lambda sensor guages, very important.
If you need help fitting a Dawes let me know as I go home yesterday and have 2 weeks of spare time.

Hey guys,
Jus gonna stick my tuppence in here whilst we`re talkin mods.
Something that 9 outta 10 peebs don`t consider, yet IMHO should
be 1 of the 1st things to do is Goodridge brake hoses, very inexpensive (bout £40ish) but when push comes 2 shove u`ll b glad u spent an extra couple of notes on the brakes
The philosophy I adopted early on was "make sure u can stop it, before ramping the power up" and it`s worked well up2 now.
OK there`s no cred in stuff like this, but with the additional pressures exerted on the brakes when more power comes on-line
it could make the difference between stopping and p155ing fluid outta a split hose
Then we can talk mods
Pete (man with wisdom hat on 2night)
