RaceWars Saturday 6th July
Hello everyone, long time no post...
Very late notice I know, but we have a few places left for our RaceWars event this coming Saturday so I thought I'd throw it open to the Scoobynet board.
Here's the deal...
Crail Airfield, 9.30am till 4.30
£35.00 per driver
Morning - Oval drift track, figure 8 track, sprint track
Afternoon - Oval, Large track
Late Afternoon - Quarter mile challenge
We will be racing for Pink slips, but since we're not stupid we won't actually be giving away our cars
instead there will be prizes for the Racer with the most Pinks slips won.
There will NOT be timing gear for the quarter mile, only start lights, WINNING IS EVERYTHING!
The event is being run by the ss-r drivers club and will have a variety of cars for you to compete against.
I can provide full details to anyone interested. Just mail me at:
racewars@carartz.com
Thanks for reading.
Dave.

Yes, but it's in tatters at the moment due to BTOpenworld deciding I was using their unlimited access too much
morons decided to terminate my account while I was on holiday.

I'm working on it all day today.

Dave,
the vouchers will be require a minimum donation of £5, for which you will get 3 - 4 laps around the track.
There will be a two-tier system in operation, with some "premium" cars requiring two vouchers in exchange for passenger laps. This is simply to prevent everyone hassling the 22B/P1 owners for passenger laps as happened the last time
Hope you get good weather this weekend for your Crail event.

Hahaha, as Shaggy says "It wasn't me" I have a white, low, Eunos Roadster.
A Lexus Vertex is the top of the range special edition GS300 (I think). It's a huge car but pretty fast. Think its a 3.5 twin turbo.

Weather may not have been very dry, but did not stop everybody from having a great laugh. Thoroughly enjoyed my cat and mouse chases on the two circuits. Preffered the semi figure of eight one as it was had more bends. The larger one was fast (2 stretches were faster than the Knockhill straight) so my work was cut out on late braking and cornering to keep a pace with the Supra and the Skyline. Then there was an amazingly fast Corsa which left everybody on the figure of eight track. Was glad to find out it was not standard. The 1/4 mile event was quite damp so it was down to traction more than anything. WIllie and staff made it a very enjoyable day and dried us out with a flaming BBQ., which I think they have now sold on to the local Burger King for Flame Toasted Burgers.
Cheers Iain

hhhehe... i enjoyed watching you all over the rear of my supra... pulling out to overtake.... but the grunt on the straights was too much!!
Dave Corsa - yes... it is nothing short of amazing
Your face said it all when you got out after him passing you... It passed the lexus with ease on the large back straight of the fig 8 track with ease... and that has the same engine as me
