Users of the SDR, this morning, plod appeared to be rigging a camera on the straight on the east side of Ardoe.

It's by the car park for that green village hall type building on the right hand side as you head out of town.

I can't swear that's what they were doing but there were two of them skulking around in the bushes and they had a van with them. It's also a bit of a coincidence that they were there the other night with a hairdryer.

A colleague has seen a camera there before and he reckons they can link it to that grey traffic counter box that's there.

Better safe than sorry.

Damn, wish I had seen this earlier and still had my car handy, it would have been a good chance to try my Valentine 1 v Bell 500 test on a mini gatso.

Will have both of them sitting side by side on the windscreen for the next few days to do some trials.

Good to see grampian police doing their bit for safety on a nice straight bit of road 648 miles from the nearest school/old folks home/hospital. (mind you you do get the odd deer on the road).

How many of them were there - 10 or so no doubt !

Looks like it's the netherly road for a while (much more fun anyway )

Red face

I passed the Bunkry based Volvo estate this morning (me going east, he west).

Saw him miles away so backed off and I passed him at just over sixty.

As we passed, they had a good look at me.

In the mirror, I saw his brake lights and he appeared to be stopping.

I expected him to turn and catch me ... but no show.

Paranoid ? .... me ? .... nah !

(BTW, password problems - hence the funny username)

The old man has spied them outside the Italian restaurant on the west side of Peterculter, just before the limit changes from 30mph to National limit on the hill.

Hey kids, be careful out there

Unhappy

Jesus ! They were on the SDR on the Park Bridge straight at about 19:30 tonight as well !

What's going on ?

BTW - they had an unmarked car with them but didn't see what it was. Black or navy, possibly Mondeo.

They seem to do this every so often, doing a blitz on a certain area for a week or two at a time, and at all times of the day. I think it's to make sure a lot of the regulars spot them, and slow down for a while.

They then move onto another area for a couple of weeks.
