I have a 2012 saloon wrx sti

looking at getting XXR 530 ET20, on standard suspension it looks like it wont rub, but might stick slightly out the arch.

My friend said its illegal for wheels to stick out further then the arch?

Is this true? Dont know much to do with wheels
