Default Something bad has happened..... Any ideas

Ok, so i was overtaking a van about 50mph and accelerating. The car felt like it hit the rev limiter bit im pretty sure it wasnt near the red line. The engine became very notchy and wasnt firing on all cyliders. I pulled over into a side road and in the rear view there was red hot sparks firing out the exhaust.... Now it wont turn over and in waiting for recovery.... I dont think this can be a good thing.... Something simple and cheap or blown turbo/pistons!?

Driving 07 wrx sl hawkeye with PPP

Any ideas or advice?, thanks

What fuel did it have in?

Sounds like your exhaust has shat out your chocolate pistons.

i feel for you but subaru have rocked the " bigger isn't always better " motto

if i was you i would ditch the 2.5 and get a 2.0 in there more of them available and with the right map will get you the torque you need

Timing belt was done about 20k ago. Only done 50k now Beastie....

Had some good news from the garage today..... Its not the turbo and the cars been up and working for a short while but cut out again. Mechanic seems to think it's something either to do with the fueling system of ECU is dicking about.

Found the cheaper option if ringlands had gone was replace the engine for about 2150.....

So made up its not the engine ruined but anyone else has similar problems with either fueling or ECU. Should be prodrive ECU don't know if there prown to breaking down?

Cheers for the banter though

All sounds a bit odd, what have they done to determine the turbo is fine? Have they done a compression test? Are they saying it was running fine on all cylinders before it cut out? Sounds a strange fault to me if the ECU is the issue...

He said he had stripped part of the engine and managed to poke the turbo with his fingers and it was all turning fine.... It drove and had pick up for about 10 miles then broke down again....
