Question

Hi

Im getting PPP fitted in the near future (week or 2).

Is it worth puttin SUL in b4 to gets fitted?
Does running on SUL give much of a performance increase? how much? In what way?

I know this has been asked many times... but... im asking again

People with PPP fitted to their cars.. whats ur verdict?

Talking

I was told to fill it up with SUL before it went away.

My certificate says 'Your vehicle will run safely on 95 RON premium unleaded, but you may not benefit from the full performance gains when using this fuel. We recommend you continue to use 97 RON Super unleaded'

I've never used 95 RON in my car, even when it was standard. BUT I did put octane booster in a while back, as well as SUL and the car flew! So I guess A drop in RON will make it slower.

I think Prodrive recommend SUL for the PPP. I've run SUL from new on my MY00, and had the PPP fitted two weeks ago - seems to make the most of it, peaking at 18psi boost and holding 17.5psi, and getting 254bhp on the rollers

SCOSaltire/vmax, your car will run fine on 95RON with PPP, but better on 97RON, and better still on 97RON plus Millers Octane Plus (+2RON = 99RON). The difference isn't huge, but from a few tests I've done with a stop watch I would guess at 10-plus bhp improvement.

Others report smoother running and improved economy.

Richard.

PS Millers is established as a good and reliable product. Genuine improvements, with no problems. Available from some go-faster retailers, or sales@scoobymania.co.uk

SCOSaltire: your email address isn't visible; are you taking part in the PPP group buy, which should be going ahead in the next week or two? Mail me if you're interested.

Andy.

Just to let you know my experience...

As they say SUL recommended for PPP but it will run UL ok, I had to put UL in my car during the fuel crisis, and it ran ok, but felt a bit sulky (i.e a bit hesitant at times) and was definitely underpowered, but otherwise ran fine.

Normal service resumed after refill of SUL

Cheers

Simon
