Thinking of swapping my Prodrive backbox for one, what are they like sound wise?
Fancy something a bit more vocal and I love the Spec R sound, but it's maybe a little loud for everyday use.

They're the same pipe
The only difference between the two is the R has the accompanying mid pipe in 3" as well. The S is a 3" bore back box which connects at OEM 2.5" flange. The RX backbox is 2.5" I believe and quieter
Why not go for the new Vortex pipe. Looks pretty good from what I can remember

Personally I think the NUR Spec S (with a sports CAT & standard centre section with resonator) is quite a bit quieter that the NUR Spec R (Full de-cat). Did a side by side comparison a few years back, both on 2003 STi's, and there was a noticeable difference in volume.
Don't be led by that to thinking that the NUR Spec S is by any means quiet but its quite a deep sound and so doesn't seem as loud as some other makes I've heard.
Best to get to a few meets where people have different setups and sample them for yourself. That's what I did and decided I wanted one. I've thought about changing it for something a little quieter a few times but can't seem to bring myself to getting rid of it because I love the sound it makes.
Depends how much you use the car and for what as well. If mine was a daily runner or a trackday machine then I think the Blitz would have to go, but it's a weekend toy/hobby so I can put up with the noise.
