Default What clutch?

My bug wrx which has filter, prodrive exhaust and remap running 270bhp has a clutch that has just started slipping. I have a few Q's:

What clutch would be best to replace it?
Can I do it from above by lifting the engine out? I did this in a NA legacy a few months back.
Anything else I should do at the same time? The plugs are 30K old. Will they need doing?

Cheers,

Dan

Yes do the plugs mate. Good move.

Go for the AP Racing Organic clutch - great oem feel and good for 350bhp + if you ever want more. If your fly is scored or has high spots ( large darker zits on it) stick in a lightened fly 6.5lbs or similar (great mod).

Good luck

PS. I had a bug wagon for four yrs with similar mods. Sportscat downpipe and sleeved up-pipe (removing the catted one) with map tweak will increase power band and lower the boost threshold ie come into the power much earlier.

depends on use, future plans and budget to a degree................

at the level you at a std 5spd clutch kit will cope just fine for "regular" use, if your planning on modding the car in the near future then something like the "pink box" Exedy is very good value for money and will cope with most things apart from aggressive drag type launches

if you want an uprated clutch with better than factory refinement then the AP Racing or Helix organic kits are the dogs danglies...........

we stock/supply all of the above as well as more race/competition options if required

Hey,

Can someone post up a link to where I'd get the right clutch. I've been let down by a supplier and just want one for the new year asap.

Standard will be fine I think.

No answer, they must be on their holidays. Who else would be able to help?

You could try this company if you are in a rush and the clutch's are quite reasonably priced
