Default B@st@rd Samco induction hose

I'm having some serious problems, Ive lost patience now and feel like selling the bloody car

So far I have fitted a md321t (billet wheel) with 76 mm compressor intake, harvey up pipe and headers, with other bits and bobs.

The samco I have is this one http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.u...productID=2832

which is the right hose, problem is, took me ages getting the oil drain hose on the turbo to sit on the pipe properly, when I move the turbo to get the hose on, the turbo comes off the oil drain line, if I bolt the turbo down tightly the samco wont go on.

Im at the end of my tether now, Ive never had this much trouble working on a car before, wasted two whole days on a stupid pipe.

Can anybody give me some tips on how to get it installed? Map is on tuesday.

Ive removed headers and up pipe 3 times now, incase everything is not aligned correctly, but still the same problem.

With the turbo bolted down and torqued up there is around 4 or 5 mm between tgv deletes and left side of the turbo intake.

I feel like setting fire to the car at this moment

To make things worse, the spring washer thing off the power steering line has gone missing, can I use some washers temporarily for the map?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Possibly try a longer drain hose? It doesn't matter if the hose goes over the humped stops at each end. As long as you use hose clips.

This will allow a little more movement without the drain coming off.

Are all the mounting brackets fitted at the up pipe flange?

If so, leave turbo bolted on but unbolt the brackets, again will allow a little more movement.

But get some pics up!! Can advise further then bud.

Thanks for the reply Paddyhoey, the upipe brackets are on, thats a good idea, dont know why I didnt think of loosening those instead of the turbo bolts, am off to halfords to see if they sell similar oil drain hoses, will get some pics up as soon as I can.

I think you're right, maybe listen to some of that hippy whale noise music and birds tweeting etc!

A problem I had was when fitting the turbo to the oil drain pipe, the hose kept bending and kinking, when I finally got it on I really didnt want to take it back off.

Sorry, my turn for sarcasm. £277 for a silicone hose

Difficult to understand where its fouling without knowing what other mods have been made, pics might help. Is it a twisted set up or standard?

Its a bit late now but this place should have everything you need to make custom parts. www.viperperformance.co.uk

Might not be much help but you sound very stressed with it all this could be a possibility if you can't get the hose you've got at the moment to fit!
Copy and paste this into eBay 331087250181
Was fitted to a md321t
It doesn't have the breather pipes so you would need to fit an oil catch can!
Cdf sell the one you will need there selling it at the moment in traders announcements with 10% discount and free delivery!
Hope you get it sorted anyway mate good luck

Have you fitted intake manifold spacers?

no manifold spacers, forgot to mention car is a widetrack blob, I didnt think I would need the spacers.

Been to two different halfords and BnQ, none had hoses that I could have used instead of the original oil drain hose.

If you had a longer drain pipe section it would be easier? That will still leave the samco alignment issue? Do you have a hose specialist local? They should be able to help with a longer drain tube.

thanks for the link, the idea was suggested above, a longer hose would allow me to move the turbo, and get the samco on without the oil drain coming off in the process.

Pull the manifold off, the time you wasted going to Hellfrauds etc, you could have had it removed, intake fitted and ready to refit with new gaskets from the dealers tomorrow.

Yes I should have done that in the beginning, I mistakenly thought it would be time consuming, could have taken my time doing it.

Would you know if copper washers will suffice for the power steering banjo temporarily, and allow me to get the car mapped?

As above guys suggest for 76mm turbo inlet you should need to use spacers(10mm should be enough)

I would speak with Alyn@AS Performance I think he selling inlet spacers and I would suggest speak with him

Mount the oil hose first on the engine side. Don't push it flush with the shoulder as you slide it down. Have it raised as high up as possible, but enough meat below the swage so a jubilee clip can be fitted.
this will give you a fighting chance.

I thought manifold spacers were for heat soak prevention only?

The guy I bought the turbo from was using it on a classic, I'm pretty sure he wasnt using spacers, but I'll double check.

I must be misunderstanding, the spacers raise the manifold by 10mm, but do they move the manifold away from the turbo?

Well it'll be 10mm higher than the turbo inlet than it is now. They don't move it forwards or back.
