Hi all

DATE CHANGE!!! - Sun 30th June from 11am onwards.

"This is for 99MY onwards (including MY01 and MY02). DeltaDash works perfectly with all post 99MY cars. The 'Tek' ECUs are currently for 99/00 only.

This is an afternoon to go through both our software and ECUs, plus PE's performance products, explain how they work, and talk about the various tuning options for your cars and how they can work together. We'll also show how DeltaDash can be used to diagnose how the performance of a car can be improved.

Mervyn, Dave and I would be there. You'll get a chance to talk to any of us without the phone and rollers going !

We may 'back to back' some of EcuTek's/PE's products with other manufacturers for general interest.

We'll also show you our infamous mapping software, to show you just how much we understand about the standard ECU (though this won't be available to the public)."

"We will have a couple of cars on the dyno and then have the mapping software and DeltaDash being demonstrated and displayed on a projector screen in the workshop.

Stephen Done will be there and able to show the programming software. Myself and Mervyn will be able to discuss the work we can do and the options for tuning the Impreza through PE and EcuTek.

The advantage is that there will be more time than we have available on the dyno days.

You will learn more about mapping and the work involved and also become familiar with DeltaDash and perhaps be able to decide if it something which would enable you to learn more about what your car is doing. It is a powerful piece of work that Stephen has done and until you see someone using it who fully understands it is not easy to appreciate it.

We will also do exact before and after dyno runs on a sample test car (i.e. not one of our development cars) which we will program to TeK1 and TeK2 spec."

Edit to reflect the date change.

As I'm still dubious about anything that you have to monitor once fitted, I'd be interested. (Or maybe I don't understand Ecutek2 properly yet, so yes - I'd still be interested)

Flat 4x4,

No monitoring of the Tek upgrades are required afterwards......

...all part of the education process after knowing something about tuning TDi's, but nothing about Subaru Tuning !
I've checked the ECU and its an AE800 so I'm keeping my eyes on the Tek 2 threads to see what the downsides are !

Sorry Ian, and MY98 is a no no I'm afraid - these ones can't be done and PE offer the phase 1 kit for these instead. That is a seperate product and not part of EcuTek.

Hi,

I've done a 1,000 or so on the TEK2 and it's behaviour has changed since the first few hungred miles - so it would be interesting to see another Dyno run ... Count me in.

Tek2 V Dawes. It was worth the extra money!! The car is much more driveable and adjustable, the Dawes was too on/off. In corners its better with the TEK2 to adjust your speed mid corner using the throttle pedal, bit of an art with the dawes due to the on/off nature. Checked yesterday and was getting 1.15 held in 5th and 1.2 peak - exactly the same as the Dawes but the car is slightly faster I would say. Its hard to tell as the Tek2 is much smoother. Also on spool up I had 1.1 bar in 5th at 2,600 revs, about 200-400 rpm lower than with the Dawes. Low down in the revs its much nicer and seems more torquey (part of the map I think), round town that means less gear changing. My fuel consumption has gone right up - was getting less than 200mpg to a tank on the Dawes, so far looking like 220-240. Just need an RR day now to see what its doing.

Overall, I'm impressed and glad I went for it. Hope that helps!

Then Steve took me out in his car - OMG, how quick!!! I need some better brakes now too!!!!

Gone down the TEK2 route myself, very impressed so far....keeps the P1 at bay I had bought a Dawes as it was a cheap and a quick mod, however, you then need a boost gauge and that pushes things up. I feel more happier with the TEK2 also, as the ECU is monitoring things correctly.

As for mpg have not been looking, but I certainly don't get 240mpg - LOL Jawa

Question

Where is it and when?

Also whats the cost of one of these with a RR test? Whats the power output after? And finally will they do a dicount on the day? Or you might just tell me that's the idea of the day, shut up and ask the guys at PE

I'd be interested to see what my car makes on the rollers.

By this time next week I should have a Tek2 and custom re-map by John Banks, plus a hybrid TD04L breathing into a full decat exhaust

Hi Guys,

This would be one Sunday, when it doesn't affect PE's business and the phone isn't ringing.

I think we'll open this up to 99MY onwards.

This isn't a free rolling road session Hoppy ! Just book a session in the normal way, though we may 'back to back' some of EcuTek's/PE's products with other manufacturers for general interest.

We'll also show you our infamous mapping software, to show you just how much we understand about the standard ECU (though this won't be available to the public).

Cheers

Steve

Think I might be reiterating Steve posting.

The plan is to show what EcuTeK is doing.

We will have a couple of cars on the dyno and then have the mapping software and DeltaDash being demonstrated and displayed on a projector screen in the workshop.

We will also do exact before and after dyno runs on a sample test car (i.e. not one of our development cars) which we will program to TeK1 and TeK2 spec.

Because we are only working with the 1999 on Imprezas we would only ask people to come if they have a 1999 – 2002 Impreza.

We have not finalised the dates but as Stephen “let the cat out of the bag” early we will get on and organise it soon.

If you are interested in this then watch this thread.
