Default FMIC and Reverse Vent....is it needed?

I am thinking about designing a new bonnet with no vent, I was wondering if the FMIC actually needs a reverse vent or do people buy them because its the easiest way to get rid of the OE vent?

No not needed, just a smoother look and stops the bonnet flapping at high speed

Thought so, I am thinking about smoothing mine over and cutting out a small vent so the air filter can have forced induction....maybe even create a working airbox around it if people would be interested

I noticed a drop in under bonnet temps after fitting reverse bonnet vent onto my classic.

Called a sport or a gx bonnet, as for forced induction, how would you stop the water getting into the Maf and airfilter?

Scoop is for top mount. You have a front mount.

All the people with high powered cars change the scoops as the bonnet tends to lift on hard acceleration, if you make a bonnet that is light weight and similar to a gx bonnet it will have no where to vent heat and big turbos can generate a lot of heat.

I think it will be a mistake to make a flat bonnet as I can't see much business in it?
