What car do you have for starters?
2003 STi should be a VF35.

The VF30 falls between the VF35 and 34. It's standard fit on JDM Bug STIs. I'd stick with the 35 it's a newer model and standard fit for your car. The VF30 will spool a bit later and be good for around 350 bhp, similar to what the 35 will do.

Yep - I'd stick with the 35 or look at another turbo altogether!

okidoke cheers guys, looks like ill be putting the VF30 up for sale on here for him soon then lol. (thought his 1 was better than mine as it seemed to throw you back in your seat more but guess it has more lag too).
just in case what Turbo would you recommend for an upgrade then.
Cheers

I have run many vf35's and think they are great turbo's, an upgrade would depend on what you want from it i.e bhp and lbs wise or a goal you want to achieve then pick the turbo to suit

Work out your power targets and choose the smallest turbo thats capable of meeting that target.

Is there anywhere that explains what the turbo abbreviations mean?

The estimated bhp figured are on the low side though.
