Hi , I got a black 53reg sti ppp uk about a week ago the car had been stood for 2 years before I got it and I want to know if there is anything I should be checking/changing.
I paid 4.5k for it with 62k miles and fsh , last service at 61k. I thought that was an ok price? Had front/rear disc n pads thrown in the sale to.
Anyways I've done pads/discs oil and filler but I was wanting to know if I should be changing anything else like diff , gearbox oil before I get her mot'd
Car was local to me and I know the lad who sold it and he only left it stood for That long as he moved out of his mam n dads house and couldn't afford a house and a sti.....before you ask ha

Almost due its big service. Change the lot. Gearbox/diff oils. Brake fluid, steering fluid. Engine oil/filter, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, coolant, cam belt and other belts. Better to be safe than sorry. And its the big one out the way aswell.

Yeah, as logger says, change the lot. Id change the timing belt too even if it was done before. It could be weakened depending on how it was stored.

Check the handbrake cable if its been on for two years may have stretched.

Still get them all changed, 2 years sat still. Not good for the lubes. And as its been said. For what you paid its still a bargain. And when you come to sell it the buyer knows its been looked after. I wouldnt buy a car thats been sat for that long and not given a full service !!!!

2 years isn't that long. Change all the fluids and filters, check the tyres are good, fresh tank of juice and get her on the road.

Give it a long gentle run to get things warmed up nicely then another look over prior to putting the pedal down. Be worth getting the aircon checked over as after 2 years the gas could have escaped also seals may have dried out and have perished. If so bin the aircon it's the cheaper option.

I reckon the gearbox/final drive fluids/plugs etc will be ok if they were changed just before storage. It would have had a cambelt change at 50k but I would be tempted to get it re-newed after 2 yrs of inactivity.
As said, you MUST have fresh fuel and I hope you didn't give it the beans on the 2 yr old stuff - it's octane level would have dropped considerably over that time as well as being generally stale.
I always dream of finding a well stored classic British sports car (Austin Healy 3000) that the widow of some old enthusiast want's to get out of the garage, and has no idea of it's actual value!
