Default 04 STI should the rear seats have only 2 seat belt buckles?

The sounds weird but i have 3 seat belts in the rear but only 2 belt buckles. What is going on? I have looked behind seat but can't find anything. Does the seat base lift up for me to check?

Regards.

it has 3, it will have fallen under the bottom seat cushion.

it has 2 bolts, undo these and push the rear down and pull forward, the rear is clipped under a metal bar.

Yea pull it up it will be underneath the lower bench unless somebody has removed it, but I can't see why they would what buckle is missing? As the centre belt buckle won't accept the 2 outer shoulder belts iirc

I think the center one is missing as i have a child seat on the pass side. I have already put my hand down but can't find anything.

Just had another feel for the central buckle and i can feel where the rear pass side one attaches but nothing for the central one. I understand that the central one should be next to the pass side one and is screwed under the seat in close proximity?

Can someone check on there car if the central buckle is screwed close to the pass one. I can't understand why it was removed and unless the buckle is screwed down really under the seat which my hand can't reach, it looks like i will need to order one?

Regards.

Thanks mate, looks like i will have to undo the rear seat.

I can feel where the pass side one is attached to the car but even around this area i can not feel the central buckle anywhere.

I think your right tubbytommy, looks like i will have to undo the rear seat. Thanks.

Really feel for you fella, your having a hard time with this motor. Reminds me of an old 5 Series BMW I bought, when I let me heart rule my head and didn't carry out my usual full inspection.

It cost me a fortune to get straight and in the end I just sold it cos the car had lost its soul. Your's just needs a bit more attention and I'm sure you'll get it straight!

All niggles so far seem REALLY minor on Kwan's car, with the possible exception being the rust near the windscreen.

If the buckle is missing a breaker of newages would be first port of call.

I bet its not missing and has just fallen below the rear seat cushion.
Personally id be happy if i bought a 9 year old car and the only faults were a blown dash light and rear belt buckle missing or under seat.

Thanks guys, the issues are minor but i supposed it just affects my perception of the car.

Saying that i sent the last two days cleaning the inside, engine bay (sort off) and waxed the car 3 times. Now it does look really good and the drive is still amazing, except when bmw drivers start challenging you.

I will be going to the berkshire meet this friday so hopefully they can have a look at the belt incase i have missed anything and recommend a person to paint the roof and spoiler. As well has look at the pass side wiper which sits at the base of the windscreen even though its a minor issue.

Thanks for all the advise and help.

Dude, its 2 bolts to remove the rear seat, my 3 year old could probably do it. I have a newage, they are some of the easiest cars to work on. Have a go, you will learn something about it and gain some confidence. The cars are pretty bullit proef. My last one was bog standard and did most tracks around the uk and europe and the only thing that failed was a rear shock.
