Looks great, can't wait for more info to be released. Here's a bit from the LA Times:
"Subaru also brought the WRX CONCEPT to the show. The automaker revealed few details about the car other than a fondness for capitalization.
The car is essentially a design study for what will become a production WRX, a compact turbocharged sedan based largely on the more pedestrian Impreza.
Because Subaru released a new Impreza for the 2012 model year, a WRX variant is expected soon -- possibly with unveiling at the 2013 L.A. Auto Show in November.
Don’t expect all the styling elements of the WRX Concept to make it to production. These includes the carbon-fiber roof that Subaru used to lower the car’s center of gravity; the aggressive rear diffuser; the deeply sculpted headlights; and the quad exhaust tips protruding from the rear (Subaru may save those for the even more powerful STI variant).
What should make it to the production car is the bulging hood and scoop. This feature channels air to the car’s engine and intercooler and allows additional clearance for a turbocharger, which the WRX will almost certainly have."

Of course it has, still an Impreza ain't it?
I was dissapointed at first but if they make this and future Impreza's as awful looking as this one, I'm not so fussed.
May be a bit better in production, less ridiculous.

Auto Express seems to think there's a chance...
"We brought you the story that Subaru has no plans to bring the new WRX STI or Impreza to the UK, although we’ve since heard that if there’s still sufficient demand in this country, the WRX STI could still make to UK showrooms."

Keep Subaru WRX STI to the UK!!!
The new concept is a great looking car, but as we all know there's been a lot of talk that Subaru UK do not intend to bring any further versions of the WRX STI to the UK. This would be a massive shame for all of us that have grown up with the WRX STI and continue to own and love them!
Auto Express reported earlier in the week that Subaru UK might be convinced to change their mind if there was enough demand for the new models! I thought it might be a good idea to show Subaru UK that there is indeed still a stong demand so I've started a club page on the OurClubs.org website called 'STI UK Forever'! Within the club page I've asked the question "Keep the Subaru WRX STI Coming to the UK"! It would be great if we could get a strong support for the 'YES' answer.
Below is a link to the club question. If you'd like to take part all you need to do is create an account on Our Clubs, join the 'STI UK Forever', go to the club question and select yes!

Gone big wheels
Gone lowered suspension
Gone Big Brakes
Gone any styling
although it will be a 2.0Ltr Turbo 200bhp
Bearing in mind this is the WRX and not a STi
£34,000
Any way I can't be arsed to buy it and looks like the can't be arsed to sell it to us in the UK.
Well For 3 years you could only buy a proxy 2.5ltr HATCH in the UK . unlike the rest of World they had had a choice saloon or Hatch. And couldn't get WR blue unlike the rest of the world Funny how sales have dropped through the floor!!
WHY ?????
because Obvisously they understood the UK Market likes saloons and WR Blue and So one must assume they didn't want to sell high volumes.
And Guess What they didn't sell many they got what they treid for
IIRC they only sold about 30 2011 Sti Saloons compared to 8,000 2005 Sti's
IMHO

You don’t want to carry on feeling bitter about Subaru and what they’ve done in the past! I for one am not too bothered about Subaru and their other offerings (except the BRZ), but I’m certainly keen on the old Impreza’s, WRX STI’s etc. If Subaru UK had a change of heart and brought the future WRX STI to the UK I’d still support it, and hopefully they’ll not make the same mistakes as they have in the past! Possibly wishful thinking, but hopefully not!

The UK market is peanuts to Subaru and they have bent over and taken it up the rusty sheriffs badge on the BRZ too. The can only sell one for two by Toyota!
Wake up and smell the coffee.
