I always use Gates kits on my cars and never had any issues.

Aye, tell them to use a decent one like Gates. Or get one yrself.

Sometimes worth replacing idler/tension pulleys, and ask them to check the water pump.

As well as getting a decent make of camblet kit I would also get a new water pump fitted at the same time. The labour to fit it when you’re replacing a full cambelt kit is virtually zero...just the cost of the part...

Maybe I’m a little **** with my car service and maintenance but on such a car is it worth risking a WP failure to save £80??? personally regardless of the car, on every cambelt change a new water pump gets fitted...but that’s just me.

Cheers

Chris

my way of thinking too,you would feel pretty daft if your water pump fails and causes extensive damage because you wanted to save a few quid when doing the cambelt

mine has a roger clark uprated waterpump done at the same time as the cambelt

buy cheap..................buy twice
