I'm looking to change my TD04 for a VF turbo, have seen a few on eBay, just wondered what to look out for in the pictures to make sure it's a good un.

Have seen some where the fins are all rusty, is this ok?

What about mileage? should I be put off by ones that have done 60k+?

Are all the VF turbos a straight bolt on for a hawkeye wrx?

Also could someone tell me the donor for the VF34,35,38 and 39?

 

all the above turbo's are good and have run them all except a 49 the other 3 will all be good on your car the 34 and 35 come from bug and blob sti's and the 48 and 49 from hatch sti's they are prone to cracks around wastegate but mostly still perform fine with these small cracks.
if i could help it i would stay away from ebay turbo's to be honest and scour the subaru forums like here and your local one, 22b, etc from a respected member and you'll probably pay less as well
